Hi, I am Mervyn MacDonald. I qualified as a Chartered Accountant back in 1980, became a member of the Institute of Taxation in 1982 and, for a time, was also an Investment Advisor approved by the ICAEW/Financial Conduct Authority. I have spent almost 40 years in public practice and was a Senior Partner in a mid tier national accountancy firm for 25 years before taking semi retirement in 2008.

As well as looking after the accounting records, I also bring to MCD a wealth of inside knowledge and experience from running an accountancy practice and dealing with the recruitment, nurturing, development and progression of staff members.

Away from the accountancy profession I enjoy walking, reading, following football, eating out and spending time exploring new places both here in the UK and overseas.
